The Victoria Sailing Co-op is a community of more than 60 sailing enthusiasts in Victoria, B.C., formed in April 2014 and actively sailing since May of that year.
With a mission to make sailing both affordable and accessible, the co-op offers members a minimum of 150 hours of sailing time each season by sharing ownership, upkeep, and operating costs of its fleet. Through a tiered membership structure—from skipper-capable individuals and families to crew-only roles—the co-op ensures that both seasoned sailors and newcomers without sailing experience can confidently enjoy days underway.
Boats are “Phoebe” (a C&C 24), “Rhumb Runner” (a Kelt 7.6) and “Penelope” (a Hunter 30).
Members also actively participate in maintenance and community events, fostering both seamanship and camaraderie on the water.
